RCB star batter Phil Salt might not feature for the team in the IPL final against the Punjab Kings. According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, Salt wasn't seen with the RCB in the final training session in Ahmedabad on the eve of the final. Speculations are rife that Salt has returned home for the birth of his first child.

However, it must be noted that Salt was not the only RCB player absent from the training session, as several other players also decided to skip the training. Salt has played a key role in RCB's juggernaut in the IPL 2025 and scored 387 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 175.90 and an average of 35.18. Doubts over his availability have left the RCB fans concerned.

If Salt is not available, RCB might have to use the services of Tim Seifert, as Jacob Bethell has also returned home due to national commitment.

Meanwhile, RCB are also sweating over the fitness of Tim David, who suffered a hamstring injury during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad and missed the following match against Lucknow Super Giants and the Qualifier 1. RCB captain Rajat Patidar also didn't look too optimistic when asked about David's availability. David will also be a big loss for RCB as his big-hitting abilities in the final overs could have been handy for the RCB. David scored 187 runs this season at a strike-rate of 185, averaging 64 in 12 matches this season.

“I have no idea about Tim David. Doctors will let us know this evening,” Patidar said in his press conference to reporters.

RCB and PBKS are yet to win an IPL title and the winner today will end a long 18-year hiatus while the loser will suffer yet another heartbreak. RCB beat PBKS in the Qualifier 1, so they will have a slight psychological advantage.
