Shreyas Iyer's magnificent innings of 87, clubbed with 48 by Nehal Wadhera, helped Punjab Kings (PBKS) script a magnificent win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2. The win ensured that PBKS made it to their second IPL final, where they will face RCB for the title.

MI batted first and posted a solid score of 203-6 in 20 overs. In a knockout game, this was a massive score, but Iyer held his calm and led the team to a win. Not the first time he led the team to glory with the bat this season. In fact, he has been the best batter of the team, scoring over 600 runs.

BCCI Punishes Shreyas Iyer

Iyer had a great night as a captain and player against MI, but he made a big blunder and was punished by the BCCI for the same. Iyer was found guilty of breaching the IPL code of conduct and was fined 24 lakh for a slow over rate in Qualifier 2. The members of the playing XI were fined Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.

MI captain Hardik Pandya was also found guilty of the same offence and fined 30 lakh, while other MI players were fined Rs 12 lakh or 50 per cent of their match fees.

PBKS To Face RCB In Blockbuster Final

PBKS will face RCB in the final of the IPL 2025. Both teams have been in hot form, and the final promises to be a thrilling affair. RCB and PBKS are yet to win a title, thus, one of the teams will surely get the monkey off its back, while the other will suffer a big heartbreak. RCB will head into the contest with a slight advantage as they thrashed PBKS in Qualifier 1, but PBKS are a top team and well capable of keeping RCB at bay.
