Rumours of a rift between Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya were put to rest after Gill shared a heartwarming story for Pandya on Instagram. It all started after Hardik Pandya and Shubman Gill didn't do a customary handshake at the toss in the Eliminator. The video of the same went viral on social media, with fans coming up with wild theories of an ego rift between the two Indian stalwarts. Later, Hardik's animated celebration to Gill's dismissal added fuel to the fire.

Gill, however, quashed the rumours and posted a picture of himself and Hardik with a beautiful caption: “Nothing but love (Don’t believe everything you see on the internet),” he wrote.

Hardik also took to social media and clarified his stance. Hardik shared Shubman Gill's story on Instagram and responded, “Always, Shubhu baby.”

MI Eye Final Berth

Meanwhile, MI will play Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 for a place in the IPL final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. MI defeated GT by 20 runs to seal a Qualifier 2 berth and would look to continue the juggernaut against PBKS. MI didn't start well, and it seemed they might miss out on the playoff spot, however, they turned things around nicely and won eight out of the 14 league games before thrashing GT in the Eliminator.

The biggest positive for MI in the Eliminator was Rohit Sharma's return to form. Sharma blasted a 50 ball 81 to help MI post a solid 228-5. Heading into Qualifier 2, MI have all bases covered and would be optimistic about winning and qualifying for the final.
