Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 1. PBKS had a great run in the league stage and topped the table after winning nine out of 14 matches. However, they were thrashed by RCB in the Eliminator after being bowled out for a mere 101.

PBKS have not made it to many playoffs, and the pressure of approaching their maiden IPL title was visible during the collapse. The situation will be tougher against MI as this is a knockout game, and a defeat will end all hopes of an IPL trophy. Also, MI are in great form, and defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by eight wickets in the Eliminator.

PBKS punched above their weight in IPL 2025. Under the able leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the team did remarkably well, courtesy of players like Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Arshdeep Singh, among others. All these youngsters are supremely talented, but how well they can handle the pressure of a knockout game will determine PBKS' fate.

MI, on the other hand, have a legacy of their own in IPL. They are the joint-most successful team in the tournament, and have players who have been part of many such situations. MI are clearly ahead of PBKS in terms of temperament and ability to perform well under pressure.

What Will Happen If The Match Is Washed Out?

The chances of rain during Qualifier 2 are relatively low, but weather can be unpredictable at times, and if there is a situation where the match is washed out, PBKS will qualify for the playoffs as they finished higher on the table. It must be noted that there are no reserve days for the IPL playoffs.

What Will Happen If The Match Is Tied?

If the match ends in a tie, a Super Over will be played to decide the winner. If the Super Over is also tied, another one will be played till the time there is a winner in the match.
