The IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 is all set to take place between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 1 (Sunday) from 7.30 PM. The winner of this game will go on to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the all-important final on June 3 (Tuesday) at this very venue. However, the teams' quest for the trophy might get hampered because of the wrath of the rain gods at the venue.

According to Accuweather.com, there is a 42% chance of rainfall during the evening at Ahmedabad, with an 8% chance of thunderstorms as well. A total of 2 hours of rainfall is predicted throughout the day. This means that there might be showers during the match. This means that we might see a delay in the start of the match between PBKS and MI.

What Happens In Rain Delays Qualifier 2

The cut-off time to start a full 20-over match is two hours past the specified time of 7.30 PM. This means that we can still see a full 40-overs game if the match starts by 9.30 PM. The cut-off time for a five-over match is 11.56 PM.
If the match is cancelled due to rain, then ait will move to the reserve day on Monday, June 2. If the match also does not happen that day, then it will be PBKS who would be declared the winners, becaue they finished 1st in the IPL 2025 points table, while MI finished at the fourth spot.

How PBKS And MI Reached Qualifer 2

PBKS finished 1st in the points table, and took on 2nd placed RCB in the Qualifer 1. They were defeated comprehensively by 8 wickets. This gave them another chance to qualify for the final as they were scheduled to face the eliminator between MI and Gujarat Titans.
In the Eliminator, MI won the match by 21 runs, and qualifier for the Qualifer 2.
