Pant last scored a ton in the IPL in the 2018 season while playing for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This is also the first IPL ton for Pant while playing for LSG as well as a captain in the league for any team.
Pant ended with a knock of 118 runs in 61 balls and stayed unbeaten with a strike-rate of 193.44. The 27-year-old hit a stunning tally of 11 boundaries and eight sixes. LSG put up a huge total of 227 on the board as they aim to ensure a sixth-place finish. Currently, the franchise is 7th in the table, one point behind Sunrisers Hyderabad.
As far as Pant is concerned, he struggled with the bat for LSG after being made the IPL's highest earning player in history following a Rs. 27 crore buy by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned franchise in the auction. Before today's game, the 27-year-old had made just 151 runs in 12 innings at an average of 13.73.
The innings means that the Indian Test team's newly appointed vice-captain ends his season with a tally of 269 runs in 13 innings at an average of 133.16. His only other half-century this season came against Chenani Super Kings (CSK) in a defeat at the Ekana Stadium.
