Punjab Kings Create History, Break MASSIVE IPL Record Against Delhi Capitals

Punjab Kings (PBKS) are currently taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 66th match of the IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. PBKS have already qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs for the first time in 11 years, and will be looking to win this match in order to qualify as one of the top two teams in the competition, so that they can have two chances to qualify for the final. In fact a win will shoot them straight up to the top of the points table, toppling league leaders Gujarat Titans (GT).
Punjab Kings posted 206/7 in the first innings batting. first. This is now the most number of times that a team has posted 200+ totals while batting first in a single IPL season. They broke the record of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who posted 6 200+ totals in IPL 2024.

Punjab Kings also equalled Gujarat Titans' record of becoming the team to score the most 200+ totals in a single IPL season. GT have scored 200+ totals seven times in the IPL 2025.

Shreyas Iyer Slams Fifty As PBKS Score 206/7

Punjab Kings got off to a poor start, as Priyansh Arya was dismissed in the 2nd over. Josh Inglis then brought them back into the game, but could not get a big score as he was dismissed after scoring 32 from 12 balls. Prabhsimran Singh also had a good start, but was dismissed by Vipraj Nigam for 28 runs. Nehal Wadhera struggled in his stay at the crease as he departed after scoring a run-a-ball 16.
Shashank Singh also got out after scoring 11 runs. Shreyas Iyer went on to score an impressive half-century but was dismissed shortly after for 53. Kuldeep Yadav struck a few balls later again, as he dismissed Azmatullah Omarzai for 1. Marcus Stoinis stole the show with his late onslaught where he scored 44 from 16 balls, as PBKS finished with 206/7.
