Punjab Kings (PBKS) retained the second spot in the IPL 2025 points table despite losing to Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last league stage game. DC were already out of the season but made sure that they exited the season with a win. PBKS might not be able to retain their spot in the two even if they win their last league stage game.
The results of other matches will have an impact on where they finish in the IPL 2025 points table. The Shreyas Iyer-led side has 8 wins and 17 points at an NRR of +0.327.
Gujarat Titans (GT) acquire the top spot with 18 points at an NRR of +0.602. Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit at the third spot and are followed by Mumbai Indians. GT will be confirmed to finish at the top spot if they defeat Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.
Orange Cap
Sai Sudharsan continues to hold the Orange Cap. The GT opener has scored 638 runs in 13 matches. He is just 2 runs ahead of his captain, Shubman Gill. The newly-appointed India Test captain has 636 runs in the same number of matches.
With 583 runs, Suryakumar Yadav sits at the third spot. The Mumbai Indians batsman has batted with a strike rate of 170.46.
Purple Cap
GT's Prasidh Krishna and Chennai Super Kings' Noor Ahmad share the Purple Cap with 21 wickets each. Since GT are confirmed to play at least 2 more matches, Prasidh has higher chances of finishing at the top. CSK have already crashed out of the season and will play their last match against GT on Sunday (May 25).
Trent Boult has 19 scalps and sits at the third spot. MI will play at least 2 more matches. They will play 4 matches if they make it to the final of the season. MI will have to win their last 3 matches to lift the trophy.
