RCB Might Get MASSIVE Rajat Patidar Boost In Bid To Qualify For IPL 2025 Playoffs

The IPL 2025 is all set to resume after being suspended for a week due to tensions between India and Pakistan. The first match is set to take place at the M Chinnswamy Stadium in Bengaluru between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). With the franchise having a chance to qualify for the playoffs, they would have been worried with some massive injury setbacks to them, including that of captain Rajat Patidar. However, it looks like they might get a massive boost.
Rajat Patidar injured his finger while playing for RCB against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3. This injury proved to be serious as there were reports that he would be ruled out for the remainder of the IPL 2025. In fact the injury might even force him to not be considered for selection for the India A squad vs England
As several videos of the RCB practice sessions before the match against KKR have started doing the rounds, Rajat Patidar was seen toiling it hard in the nets, thus suggesting that he has recovered from the injury he suffered. This comes as a big boost for RCB as their captain seemed fit and fine.

Who Will Lead RCB If Rajat Patidar Does Not Play?

In the game between RCB and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) that was supposed to be held on May 13, Rajat Patidar was already ruled out due to injury, and it was star wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma who was set to lead the franchise in his absence. Jitesh himself confirmed this in a conversation on the RCB Diaries show on YouTube.
"I was very grateful for the opportunity given to me. They were giving me an opportunity to captain RCB, and it's a very big thing for me and my family. I was thinking of what the right combination would be because both Devdutt [Padikkal] and Rajat were not available, and it was a big responsibility to replace them," Jitesh said.
