Virat Kohli and Jacob Bethell provided a quick start to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the league stage match against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday (May 3). The duo played their shots right from the word go and scored 71 runs in the powerplay. Virat, who often takes his time at the start, was in full flow and he hit 3 sixes in the powerplay.

Virat's big hits saw him create history and etch his name in the record books. The right-handed batsman is now the only batsman in the world to hit 300 sixes for a team in T20 cricket.

Virat's tally of 300* sixes for RCB includes his big hits in IPL as well as the Champions League. The former RCB captain joined the franchise before IPL 2008 and remains the only player to play for the same franchise in every IPL season.

RCB are aiming for the top spot and a win over Chennai Super Kings will see them move to the top position. With 7 wins and 14 points, RCB are at the third spot in the IPL 2025 points table.

Top-placed Mumbai Indians also have the same number of wins and points. A win will see RCB become the first team to have more than 15 points. CSK have already crashed out and they are reeling at the last spot. The MS Dhoni-led side has 2 wins from 8 matches. CSK can avoid a last-place finish if they register a couple of wins.
