IPL's Most Heated Player-Umpire Moments Ft. Shubman Gill & MS Dhoni (Source: BCCI/IPL)
Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill lost cool on the match officials after a few decisions didn't go their way against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Gill had an intense chat with the fourth umpire at the boundary after he was given run out in a controversial decision. Gill, batting on 76, was short of his crease, but there was enough doubt if the ball or the keeper's gloves dislodged the bails. The decision didn't go in Gill's favour, leaving him frustrated.
During the 14th over of SRH's innings, Gill had another heated exchange with the on-field umpire after Abhishek Sharma escaped an LBW call, courtesy of the umpire's call on impact. Altercations between umpires and players are generally avoided because they invite heavy penalties on the players; however, at times, the emotions get the better of the players.
