Pakistan batsman Babar Azam's Instagram story bashing the Pakistan Army after his Instagram account was blocked in India following the Pahalgam attack went viral on social media. The move was part of the crackdown drive by the Indian government that saw several Pakistani celebrity accounts banned in India. Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan, and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar were also among the top Pakistan sportsmen whose accounts were blocked in India. The Pahalgam terrorist attack, which took place on April 22, was one of the most horrific attacks in India and resulted in the death of 26 civilians.
"As a cricketer, I have always loved playing in India and I have considered it as my second home. It is unfortunate that my Instagram account was blocked in India. I want to make it absolutely clear that cricketers are not involved in the Pahalgam attack. What's happening is the result of the dirty act of Pakistan army. I won't take names but everyone knows who truly holds the power in Pakistan and who continues to protect and support terrorism. To the Pakistan Army, your actions are making innocent Pakistanis suffer. Stop sponsoring terrorism. Pakistan Zindabad," the post read.

Did Babar Azam Really Bash Pakistan Army?

The post spread like a wildfire on social media, but since his account was blocked in India, there was no authentic way to verify if he really made the post. Many users, however, confirmed that the post was fake. The content of the post, where he openly criticised the Pakistan Army, also raised eyebrows because such remarks against his own Army could have put him in deep trouble.

No India vs Pakistan Matches In ICC Events After Pahalgam Attack?

The calls to boycott Pakistan in ICC events are at an all-time high after the Pahalgam attack. The teams only play in the Asia Cup and ICC events, and the terrorist attack in Pahalgam seems to be the final nail in the coffin for the cricketing ties between the two countries. Several cricketers, including Sourav Ganguly, have called for breaking all ties with Pakistan.
"100 per cent, this (breaking ties with Pakistan) should be done. Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated," Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata.
