Punjab Kings (PBKS) continued the winning run in IPL 2025 as they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by four wickets. Chasing a target of 191, PBKS cruised to a win in the 20th over, courtesy of 54 by Prabhsimran Singh and 72 by Shreyas Iyer. Prabhsimran has been brilliant for PBKS and is the second leading run scorer for the franchise in IPL 2025. While Shreyas Iyer tops the charts with 360 runs for PBKS, Prabhsimran follows him at 346 runs in 10 games.

Prabhsimran Breaks A Massive Record

The 54-run knock by Prabhsimran helped him create a massive record in IPL and become the first uncapped player in the world to score 1100 runs in IPL. Prabhsimran, who has only played for the Punjab franchise in IPL, has represented the franchise in 44 games, scoring 1102 runs, including a century and six fifties. Prabhsimran is followed by Manan Vohra, who scored 1083 runs in the IPL.

PBKS Inch Closer To Playoff Berth

The win over CSK was PBKS' sixth win in IPL 2025, which helped the team jump to second position in the points table and get closer to the IPL playoffs. PBKS has never won an IPL, but the team has looked good enough to win this year under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer. PBKS will also be happy to see the skipper get back among the runs after going through a slight lean patch following an 82 run knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 12. He had also notched up scores of 97* and 52* against Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) respectively earlier in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the defeat to PBKS knocked CSK out of the IPL 2025. It was a torrid run for the franchise, where they won just two out of the first 10 games.
