Rajasthan Royals' 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi put the whole cricketing world on notice when he slammed a 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans, thus creating history. As he received plaudits from across the world from some of the legends of the game, there were also some people on the internet who were doubtful of Suryavanshi's age. In fact, Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh has also taken an indirect dig at the youngster.

In a post on his X account, Vijender Singh sarcastically asked if people have started reducing their age to play cricket. This post came just two days after Suryavanshi created history, and hence, it can be assumed that Vijender was talking about the Rajasthan Royals star.

“Bhai aaj kal umar choti ker ke cricket me bhe khelne lage (Have players started reducing their age in cricket too?)," Vijender wrote.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi slammed 101 runs from 37 balls against Gujarat Titans in a dazzling innings studded with 7 fours and 11 massive sixes. He thus becomes the youngest player in history to slam a century in T20 cricket, and also in the IPL.

Suryavanshi hit his century in 35 balls against the Gujarat Titans. This was the fastest century by an Indian in the history of the IPL. This was also the second-fastest ton overall in the IPL after Chris Gayle's 30-ball hundred against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi will next be seen in action as the Rajasthan Royals take on Mumbai Indians in the 50th match of IPL 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Vaibhav came in the side as a replacement for the injured Sanju Samson. Sanju's absence vs MI, coupled with his superb form makes Vaibhav a sure-shot starter in the must-win game for MI.
