Mehidy Hasan created history and etched his name in history books as Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by an innings and 106 runs to level the two-match series 1-1. Mehidy, who made his Test debut in 2016, shone in both departments on the third day. It turned out to be the final day of the Test match.
Mehidy became the first Asian player in Test cricket's history to score a century and take a five-fer on the same day in Test cricket. The right-handed batsman slammed a brilliant 105 off 162 balls. Later in the evening, he took a five-fer.
Coming out to bat at number 7, Mehidy hit a brilliant 104 off 162 balls. Batting with a strike rate of 64.20, Mehidy hit 11 boundaries and a six in his knock. He added a crucial 96-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Tanzim Hasan as Bangladesh scored 444 in response to Bangladesh's score of 227.
Mehidy toppled Zimbabwe's batting and took a five-fer on the same day to achieve the huge feat. Ben Curran, the brother of Sam and Tom Curran, top-scored for Zimbabwe and hit 46 off 103 balls. None of the other batters could breach the 40-run mark as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 111. Apart from Mehidy, Taijul Islam also shone with the ball and took a three-fer.

Bangladesh's win over Zimbabwe in the second Test saw them level the series 1-1. The visitors lost the first Test match by 3 wickets. The visitors chased down the target of 174. Blessing Muzarabani was bestowed with the Player of the Match award for his heroics.
The right-arm pacer scalped 3 wickets in the first innings and followed up with a six-fer. Brian Bennett slammed a half-century in the chase while Curran played a vital knock of 44.
