Kolkata Knight Riders registered their much-needed fourth victory of the IPL 2025 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, as they kept themselves alive in the race for the playoffs. Despite the win, KKR suffered a big blow during the match as captain Ajinkya Rahane injured himself while fielding. He split the webbing of his finger, and had to be taken off the field. In his absence, Sunil Narine captained KKR for the remainder of the game.
After the match, there have been concerns as to whether Rahane can play for KKR in their next game. However, the KKR captain shrugged off any concerns, saying that he would be fine for the next game.
“Not bad. I’ll be OK. I’ll be fine," he said during the post-match presentation ceremony.
In the post-match press conference, KKR all-rounder Anukul Roy also confirmed that he injury is not serious and he would need just a couple of days to recover.
“It doesn’t look too serious. He may need a couple of days to recover. The doctors will assess and provide more clarity, but for now, he’s doing fine. He got a few stitches," said Anukul.
