The India women's cricket team are currently taking on South Africa in their second match of the tri-series at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The team have made a solid start after winning the toss and opting to bat first. The main force behind India's good start to this match has been opener Pratika Rawal.

Rawal slammed 78 from 91 balls in an innings studded with 7 fours and 1 six. She has had a fantastic start to her ODI career, as in just 8 matches she has scored 574 runs. She has now become the fastest batter in history to score 500 runs in Women's ODI cricket. She broke the record of England's Charlotte Edwards, who slammed 500 ODI runs in 9 innings.

In women's cricket the record for most runs after her first six innings was held by Thailand's Natthankan Chantham (322).

Rawal also holds the record for the third-highest individual score by an Indian in the history of women's ODIs.
