The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoff races took a major twist as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kept themselves alive with a 14-run victory over Delhi Capitals, who suffered their second defeat in a row on Tuesday (April 29) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The result alongside the Rajasthan Royals' (RR) win over Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday (April 28) means that all 10 teams are still alive in the race to reach the playoffs mathematically. While the 16-point mark is considered safe for qualification, teams can qualify with 14 like Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) last year showed, if other results go their way and with a positive Net Run Rate (NRR).

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (91%) - RCB are the only team with 14 points on the board, and with four matches remaining, one victory should seal their spot in the playoffs, while two will give them a good chance of making the top 2.

RCB Remaining Fixtures: CSK (H), LSG (A), SRH (H), KKR(H)

Mumbai Indians (69%) - MI are currently second on the table with 12 points on the board, but third-place Gujarat Titans (GT) have played one match less. The five-time champions need at least two wins in their remaining four matches to qualify.

MI Remaining Fixtures: RR(A), GT (A), PBKS (A),DC(H)

Gujarat Titans (80%) - With six wins and three defeats in nine games, GT are in a commanding position. With five matches remaining, victories in two should be enough, and they can regain top spot in the table if they win their game in hand over RCB.

GT Remaining Fixtures: SRH(H), GT (A), DC(A), LSG(H), CSK(H)

Delhi Capitals (61%) - Delhi dominated the tournament at the start with six wins in eight matches but two defeats in three days have come as a big setback. However, the Axar Patel-led team still have their fate in their own hands with four matches left, and victories in three matches will see them advance to the playoffs for the first time in four years.

DC Remaining Fixtures: SRH(A), PBKS (A), GT (H), MI (A)

Punjab Kings (63%) - PBKS are in a unique position as the rained-out game vs KKR means that NRR is not a worry for them. With 11 points in 10 matches, the Shreyas Iyer-led side could seal a spot in the playoffs with two wins while three will be enough for them to qualify.

PBKS Remaining Fixtures: CSK (A), LSG (H), DC(H), MI(H),RR(A)

Lucknow Super Giants (22%) - LSG made a strong start to the season with five wins in eight games, but defeats in the last two games have left their campaign hanging by a thread. With 10 points in 10 games, the Rishabh Pant-led side needs at least three wins.

LSG Remaining Fixtures: PBKS (A), RCB(H), GT (A),SRH(H)

Kolkata Knight Riders (12%) - KKR, like PBKS, do not need to worry about NRR due to being on odd points. With the win over DC, they have given themselves a chance but in all probability, anything apart from four wins in their remaining matches will not be enough for them.

KKR Remaining Fixtures: RR(H),CSK(H),SRH(A),RCB(A)

Sunrisers Hyderabad (2%) - SRH, who finished runner-up last year, face a daunting challenge as they can get to a maximum of 16 points and need to win all their five remaining games.

SRH Remaining Fixtures: GT(A),DC(H),KKR (H),RCB(A), LSG(A)

Rajasthan Royals (0.2%) - RR can get to a maximum of 14 points, and despite the dominant victory over GT, they need to win all four games and then hope for a miracle with other results.

RR Remaining Fixtures: MI(H),KKR(A), CSK(A),PBKS(H)

Chennai Super Kings (0.04) - CSK's situation is the same as RR, as they cannot reach 16 points. They also need to win each of their five remaining games with a huge margin and then hope for some divine intervention.
