Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 14-year-old sensation for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), broke several long-standing Indian Premier League (IPL) records as he helped his team pick up a commanding 8-wicket win against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, on April 28 (Monday). Suryavanshi became the fastest Indian centurion in IPL history, reaching there in just 35 balls.
He broke the previous mark set by Yusuf Pathan, a former all-rounder for India (37 balls against the Mumbai Indians). At 14 years and 32 days, Suryavanshi is also the youngest centurion in IPL history, having surpassed Manish Pandey (19 years and 253 days).

Indian Legends Hail Young Suryavanshi

The youngster had everyone in awe with his astonishing knock. It was the sight of a lifetime as a 14-year-old was taking on some of the most prominent names in the cricketing world and ensured that it was his name that became the talking topic.
Even legendary cricketers like Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh were extremely impressed with the ability of RR's young gun. They heaped massive praise on Vaibhav. Yusuf Pathan who previously held the record for fastest IPL century by an Indian congratulated him for breaking his record.
Additionally, Vaibhav Suryavanshi set a huge world record. At 14 years and 32 days, he is currently the youngest player to ever score a century in the T20 format. He surpassed the mark set by Vijay Zol of Maharashtra, who hit a century against Mumbai in 2013 at the age of 18 years 118 days.
All things considered, this is the second-fastest IPL century, narrowly behind Chris Gayle's 30-ball ton for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in 2013. The Bihar southpaw thrashed Ishant Sharma, a 105 Tests veteran for India, for 28 runs, including three sixes and two fours, in the fourth over of RR's chase. In the tenth over, he also hit debutant Karim Janat for 30 runs. He was eventually dismissed on 101 (38) by Prasidh Krishna.
