Shikhar Dhawan lashed out at Shahid Afridi
Afridi's controversial remarks on the Pahalgam attacks caused outrage
Dhawan is among India's finest cricketers
Shikhar Dhawan, widely regarded of the finest cricketers India has produced in white-ball cricket, slammed Shahid Afridi over the ex-Pakistan cricket team captain's controversial remarks over the recent Pahalgam Terror Attacks.
After a series of diplomatic measures by the Indian government against Pakistan following the tragic events, Afridi put the blame for the attacks on the Indian army and claimed that Pakistan were being unfairly blamed. The ex-Pakistan cricketer received criticism from all corners over his comments.
Dhawan has become the latest to bash Afridi in an unfiltered comment on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The ex-Indian opener told the former Pakistan cricketer to focus on the development of his country and reminded him about the Kargil war, which took place in 1999.
"Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge, bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao @SAfridiOfficial. Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind! (We defeated you in Kargil. How much will you fall? Instead of making comments for no reason, focus on the development of your country. We are very proud of the Indian army,)" wrote Dhawan.

For those unversed, India saw one of its darkest days in history last week (April 22) when 26 people were killed and several injured after a group of terrorists opened fire on a popular tourist spot in Pahalgam, a hill state in the Jammu & Kashmir region of India.
Since the events, the Indian government announced that the Indus Water treaty between the two countries was put in abeyance, while Pakistani nationals in India were asked to leave the country alongside the closure of the Attari-Wagah Border. On Monday (April 28), several Pakistan-based YouTube accounts were banned in the country, which include former cricketers like Shoaib Akhtar and Basit Ali alongside several media houses and content creators.
