Rahul Dravid Jumps Off Wheelchair, Freak Celebration Goes Viral After Vaibhav Suryavanshi's 35-Ball Hundred (Source: BCCI/IPL)
14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scripted history as he decimated the Gujarat Titans (GT) bowlers to become the second fastest centurion in IPL history after Chris Gayle. Vaibhav, who was playing his 3rd IPL match, scored a hundred in just 35 balls. The knock was studded with seven fours and 11 sixes. Gayle, meanwhile, scored a hundred in 30 balls.
Vaibhav shattered multiple records en route to the blazing ton. Along with being the youngest and fastest Indian to score a hundred in IPL, he also became the youngest to score a hundred in T20 cricket. The knock helped RR comfortably chase the 210-run target set by GT. The youngster had already given a glimpse of his potential after he scored a blazing 34 in 20 balls in his debut match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Rahul Dravid's Reaction Goes Viral
RR coach Rahul Dravid could not control his emotions after Suryavanshi scored his 100th run. Dravid, who is struggling with an injured leg, stood up from his wheelchair to give Suryavanshi a standing ovation. Dravid's reaction to Suryavanshi's hundred went viral on social media.
Records Broken By Vaibhav Suryavanshi
The 35-ball hundred by Vaibhav is the fastest by an uncapped player in IPL. The 11 sixes hit by Suryavanshi is the joint-fastest by an Indian in IPL along with Murali Vijay. This is also the most sixes hit by an uncapped batter in an IPL innings and the most by a Rajasthan Royals batter.
RR Stay Alive In IPL
This was the third win for RR in IPL 2025. It has been a nightmare season for the franchise that saw them lose seven games, however, a win of such magnitude has kept their hopes alive, even though it will still be very tough for them to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
