Mumbai Indians Create History, Becomes First Team In The World To Win 150 Matches In Indian Premier League(BCCI/IPL)
What a turnaround this has been for the Mumbai Indians (MI). The team looked down and out in the first five games, where they won just once, but the five time champions bounced back in style to win five games in a row. They defeated Lucknow Super Giants (MI) by 54 runs at the Wankhede Stadium to continue their juggernaut.
MI's batting, especially the top order, was a concern in previous games, but all the batters are up and running, and the Blue Brigade now look a team that'll be very hard to beat. Against LSG, MI posted a score of 215-7, courtesy of 58 by Ryan Rickleton and 54 by Suryakumar Yadav. In a stiff case, Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with the ball and bowled his best spell of IPL 2025, taking 4 wickets for 22, helping MI bowl out LSG for 161 and win the game by 54 runs.
MI Create History
The win over LSG was MI's 150th win in IPL and they became the first team in the world to reach the landmark. In 271 matches, MI have 148 outright wins, while two wins came in the Super Over. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are second and third on the list with 140 and 134 wins, respectively.
