Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have travelled to Dellhi where they are taking on the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The RCB fans got some pretty bad news at the toss, as man in form Phil Salt was not playing this match as he was down with a fever. In his place, RCB handed a debut to English all-rounder Jacob Bethell who opened the innings with Virat Kohli. In his very first IPL match, he created history.
Jacob Bethell is now the youngest overseas player to make his debut for RCB in the IPL at just 21 years and 186 days old. He broke the record of Shimron Hetmyer, who made his RCB debut in IPL 2019 at the age of 22 years and 87 days.

Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Shine As RCB Restrict DC To 162/8
After being put into bat first, Delhi Capitals had a decent start. But Josh Hazlewood struck the first blow as he removed Abhishek Porel for 28 runs. Karun Nair also departed after scoring just 4 runs. Faf du Plessis also departed after a struggling 22-run knock as Krunal Pandya took his wicket. Captain Axar Patel fell prey to Hazlewood as he scored 13.
KL Rahul looked to get some momentum after spending some time in the middle, but departed on 41 runs. Impact Player Ashutosh Sharma had a short stay at the crease, as he departed immediately after. After that, Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam provided some momentum to the innings, with the former scoring 34 from 18 balls. They managed to score 162/8 at he end of their 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star of the show with three wickets, while Hazlewood also chipped in with two scalps.
