It is worth noting that before this innings, Bishnoi had never hit a six in his IPL career. He smashed two sixes against MI after also hitting Corbin Bosch for a maximum. He made a knock of 13 in 14 balls. As far as Bumrah is concerned, he was hit for two sixes in his spell after Mitchell Marsh also tonked one into the stands earlier in the day.
Talking about the match, MI registered their fifth win in a row with an all-around brilliant performance. After Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first, MI posted a huge score of 216 on the board, with Suryakumar Yadav (54 of 28) and Ryan Rickelton (58 of 32) scoring half-centuries while Naman Dhir (25 of 11) and Corbin Bosch (20 of 11) gave them a strong finish.
Bishnoi had a largely forgettable evening with the ball as conceded 41 runs in four overs while taking just one wicket with the dismissal of Tilak Varma.
In reply, no LSG player managed to make more than 35 runs (Ayush Badoni) despite Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, and David Miller making starts.
The results mean MI have climbed to second place in the table with 12 points. However, they will slip to third after the culmination of the Delhi Capitals-Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clash. LSG's hopes of reaching the playoff are hanging by a thread as they sit in 6th place with just five wins in five matches (10 points).
