Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians hammered Rishabh Pant's Lucknow Super Giants by a massive margin of 54 runs in match 45 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) which was being played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, on April 27 (Sunday). LSG captain reflected on the loss and said that it was just not their day. He also praised MI for playing such good cricket.

Pant acknowledged that the team has experienced a dip but also expressed confidence that they will be able to recollect themselves and bounce back with this break in between their next game. He also said that players might start questioning themselves but this is not something they should do
"We feel as a team it was the right decision for us (to bowl first), because most of the time we back our batting. Yes, bowlers, we want to give the best conditions for them, but today wasn't our day. The other team is playing good cricket, you've got to give credit to them instead of just looking to question yourself. As a team, the dip is there but we can figure it out because we have a break at the right time," said Rishabh Pant in the post-match presentation.
"Keeping it very simple, not thinking about it too much (talking about his poor run). In a season like this, where things are not going your way, you're going to start questioning yourself as a player - that's not something you want to do. When the team is doing well, you've got to think about that. It's a team game. Every time if you take out the individual, it's not the right thing to do I guess. Definitely it was good to see him coming back from injury. First match, he's getting that rhythm, you can see it. Hopefully, he gets better and better next time," he added.
Mumabi Indians batting first posted 215/7 with the help of fifties from Ryan Rickelton (58 off 32) and Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28 balls). Later Naman Dhir (25 off 11 balls) and Corbin Bosch (20 off 10 balls) also played crucial cameos.
Later, Jasprit Bumrah's four-fer and Trent Boult's three wickets walked through the LSG batting line-up. However, Will Jacks who dismissed Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant and also scored 29 runs of 21 balls got Player of the Match for his all-round performance. MI have jumped to the second spot with this win and on the other hand, LSG are at the sixth spot
