Liverpool fans can finally rejoice as their team have won their second Premier League title, as they clinched a thumping 5-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur. The team went 30 years without winning a major top-flight league title, and ended their drought in 2020, and now five years later they have once again triumphed. With this title win, the Reds from Merseyside have now equalled a world record that was held by their arch-rivals, Manchester United, for 12 long years.

Liverpool have now won their 20th league title (18 English First Divisions, 2 Premier Leagues). This makes them the joint-most successful team in the English top flight alongside Manchester United, who also have 20 titles (7 English First Divisions, 13 Premier Leagues). If Liverpool wins the Premier League again next season, then they will go ahead of Man United.

The side still has 4 matches to play in their Premier League season, as they have scored 82 points from 34 games, which is 15 ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Arne Slot tasted success in the very first season as Liverpool manager, and filled the big shoes of Jurgenn Klopp to perfection. He now becomes the first Liverpool manager to win the Premier League in his very first season.

Overall, he becomes the sixth manager after Jose Mourinho (Chelsea), Carlo Ancelotti (Chelsea), Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City), Claudio Ranieri (Leicester City) and Antonio Conte (Chelsea) to achieve this feat.
