Rajasthan Royals (RR) are currently taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While RR have been struggling this season, the one bright spot for them has been the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal. He continued his sparkling run in the tournament against RCB as well as he slammed 49 from 19 balls. During this innings, he achieved a massive feat as he became the first player in the world to do so.
In the first ball of the Rajasthan Royals innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a six. He thus became the first player ever in the 18 years of the IPL to hit a six against RCB at the Chinnaswamy in the first ball of an innings. Mayank Agarwal and Virat Kohli have previously hit a six in the first ball of an innings at this venue, but both of these instances have come while playing for RCB.

Virat Kohli and Phil Salt got RCB off to a flying start as the duo stitched at a fifty-run stand for the opening wicket. Phil Salt was the first batter to depart for 25 runs. Kohli then went on to smash his fifth half-century of the IPL 2025. He stabilized the innings with Devdutt Padikkal, who too went on to score a fifty.
Kohli was ultimately dismissed for 70 runs by Jofra Archer. Padikkal and Rajat Patidar also departed in quick succession thereafter. Tim David and Jitesh Sharma provided some quickfire knocks at the end as RCB slammed 205/5. Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets
