Rajasthan Royals are all set to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 24 (Thursday). RR are desperate for a win after 6 losses from their first 8 games. On the other hand, RCB too would be looking for their first win at their home stadium this season after three losses at the venue. In the IPL 2025, there have been former RCB players who have caused trouble to the franchise at their home- be it Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, or KL Rahul. The RR head coach, Rahul Dravid, has now emphasized this point to take a dig at RCB.
In the press conference ahead of the RCB vs RR match, Rahul Dravid sarcastically asked if they have a former RCB player on their side, as he would be played straight in the playing XI in Saturday's match.
“Do we have an RCB player from last time? Play him in the XI straightaway," Dravid said.
'Have To Play Well To Be Alive In This Tournament'
Rajasthan Royals are currently languishing in the 8th position in the points table with 4 points from 8 games. In order to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs, the Jaipur-based franchise now needs to win all its remaining games in the tournament. A loss in any of these games could derail their campaign.
Rahul Dravid acknowledged the fact that they have to play out of their skins to remain alive in IPL 2025. The RR head coach said that even though they lost a few games, they have played some good cricket as well.
"We know we have to play well to be still alive in this tournament," Dravid said. “I know we've lost a couple of close games coming into this, but we've played some good cricket as well. It's one of those tournaments where a few balls are going here or there, and we might have been in a slightly different position, but you need to play well in those critical moments,” Dravid added.
