Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Viswanathan has admitted that their team is struggling, but at the same time made it clear that there will not be any knee-jerk reactions. CSK are languishing at the bottom of the points table with six losses in eight games, and with half of the IPL done and dusted, the writing is on the wall.
Viswanathan spoke about his team's run in IPL 2025 and said, "We have not been performing up to the mark. We are trying to improve, and we will try to do well in the next few games. We have never pressed the panic button in our franchise is not like that, it is just a game."
Can Dhoni script a turnaround after taking over from Gaikwad midway through the tournament?
"See, it's not the question of anybody. It's a question that the team should do well and not just one individual. We don't talk to the team management. Dhoni will do what is right for the team.
"What we are expecting as administrators is a good performance by the team, and we don't criticise our team at all," he added.
After the defeat in the previous game against MI, CSK captain MS Dhoni had made a candid assessment of his team said: "I think we were quite below par."
"What we need to realize is that we are successful because we play good cricket and at the same time when we are not playing good cricket what is important is not to get too emotional about it and at the same time you want to be practical. There have been instances, one of the seasons I think 2020 has not been great for us but we need to see whether we are playing the right form of cricket, whether we are applying ourselves. Those are the question marks we have got, few catches and that will help. Other than that we are just trying to plug in the holes," he explained in detail.
