Delhi Capitals registered their 6th win of the IPL 2025 when they defeated Lucknow Super Giants in a one-sided game at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium on April 22 (Tuesday). One of the stars with the bat was KL Rahul, who top-scored in the innings while chasing a modest 158. He slammed a half-century against the side he captained for three years from IPL 2022 to 2024. He managed to create a unique record as he became the first player to achieve a massive feat.
KL Rahul slammed an unbeaten 57 runs from 42 balls in an innings studded with 3 fours and 3 sixes. He has now slammed 2490 runs while chasing in the IPL, at an average of 50.82. He now becomes the first player ever to score more than 1000 runs while chasing at an average of more than 50.

KL Rahul Slams 5000 IPL Runs
KL Rahul also slammed 5000 runs in the IPL with his half-century vs LSG. He became the fastest to reach the landmark in IPL history, having done so in 130 innings. He beat the record of David Warner, who did so in 135 innings.

DC Secure Big Win Vs LSG
After being put in to bat first, LSG got off to a great start with Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh putting up an 87-run stand for the opening wicket. Markram got out for 52. Mitchell Marsh also got out for 45 shortly after, and after that DC put on the brakes on the run scoring for LSG. The home side could only score 159/6 at the end of 20 overs. Mukesh Kumar stole the show with the ball as he picked up 4 wickets.
In reply, DC never had any difficulty during the run chase. Despite the early wicket of Karun Nair, Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul slammed twin half-centuries, and captain Axar Patel smashed 34 from 20 balls. The away side pulled off the run chase with 8 wickets and 13 balls to spare.
