Vaibhav Suryavanshi During Record Breaking Innings vs LSG (Source: BCCI/IPL)
Rajasthan Royals' (RR) 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi grabbed eyeballs with his stunning 34 off 20 balls against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Vaibhav, the youngest player in IPL history, got his career off to a flying start with a six off the first delivery he faced by Shardul Thakur. There were no nerves, he looked calm at the crease and blasted three maximums and two fours before being dismissed. He, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, added 85 runs for the first wicket to put RR in complete control of the 181-run chase.
RR, however, once again failed to get over the line and suffered a close defeat. Against DC, RR needed nine runs to win in the final over, but they failed to chase, and the match was forced into the Super Over, where RR suffered a defeat. The same was the case against LSG, where RR failed to chase nine in the last over, suffering a two-run defeat.
