Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the talk of the town after Rajasthan Royals (RR) handed him his maiden IPL cap against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025. The opening batsman replaced Sanju Samson, who is out of action due to a rib injury. Vaibhav was included as an Impact Player and he walked out to open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Youngest to make IPL debut
Aged 14 years and 23 days, Vaibhav became the youngest debutant in IPL's history. He joined RR when he was 13 and made his debut at 14. The inaugural IPL Champions spent Rs 1.1 crore on him at the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
Vaibhav broke Prayas Ray Barman's record, who made his IPL debut aged 16 years and 157 days in 2019. He was part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Youngest to hit a six in IPL
Vaibhav didn't just become the youngest IPL debutant, but also the youngest batsman to hit a six in IPL. The record previously belonged to Riyan Parag, who is leading RR in the ongoing fixture. The stand-in RR captain hit a six aged 17 years and 161 days. Riyan captained RR in the first 3 matches as Samson played as an Impact Player. He wasn't cleared to keep wickets at the start of the season.
Youngest to hit a four in IPL
Not just a six, Vaibhav also became the youngest batsman to hit 4a four in IPL. Prayas Ray Barman held this record for six years. Riyan is at the fourth spot of this elite list.
