KL Rahul created history and etched his name in the record books during Delhi Capitals' (DC) away game against Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2025. The wicketkeeper-batsman broke Sanju Samson's record to move to the top spot of an elite list. Rahul joined DC in the IPL 2025 mega-auction and has been one of their best performers.

Rahul broke Samson's record to become the fastest batsman to hit 200 sixes in IPL. He achieved the milestone in only 129 innings. Samson, who is now at the second spot, hit 200 sixes in 159 innings.

MS Dhoni sits at the third position. The stand-in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain took 165 innings to hit 200 sixes in the T20 league. He is leading CSK in Ruturaj Gaikwad's absence.

KL Rahul kicked off his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2013. He did not hit a six in his debut season. He moved to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for IPL 2014 and 2015. Rahul hit 8 sixes in 20 matches for them.

The right-handed batsman hit 16 sixes in IPL 2016. He missed IPL 2017. Rahul kicked off his purple patch in IPL starting 2018 and piled up 659 runs in IPL 11. His tally included 32 sixes. The former Punjab Kings opener hit 25, 23 and 30 sixes in the next three seasons, respectively.

Rahul played for Lucknow Super Giants from IPL 2022 to 2024 and hit 53 sixes for them. He also captained them in 3 seasons. LSG made it to the playoffs of 2 IPL seasons. He moved to DC in the IPL 2025 mega-auction and has hit 13 sixes for them so far.

With 5 wins from 6 matches, DC sit at the top spot in the points table. Gujarat Titans will move to the top spot if they defeat DC.
