KEY HIGHLIGHTS

- Head achieved a unique treble which has not been done before
- SRH lost to MI by four wickets
Travis Head etched his name in the history books despite Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) six-wicket defeat to Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Staidum in Mumbai on Thursday (April 17) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after achieving a historic feat.
Head had a rare off day in the office as he played the slowest IPL knock of his career by making just 28 runs in 29 balls on an uncharacteristic sluggish pitch at the Wankhede Stadium. This marked the first instance of Head making more than 20 runs at a strike-rate of less than 100.
However, Head shattered the record books as he completed 1000 runs in his IPL career.
Travis Head Creates History
Head has played 32 matches in his IPL career through stints with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and made 1014 runs at an average of 36.21 and strike-rate of 172.44. While a total of 102 players have hit more than 1000 runs in the league's history, Head and Andre Russell are the two players to have a strike-rate of more than 170. The Australian star has also become the first player to achieve the unique treble of scoring more than 1000 runs at an average of above 30 and a strike-rate beyond 170. However, Nicholas Pooran and Heinrich Klaasen are closing in on the rare feat.
