Delhi Capitals continued their solid run in the IPL 2025 as they registered their fifth win in six matches, against the Rajasthan Royals, to go top of the table with 10 points. Their match with RR was arguably one of the most thrilling matches in the competition so far, as it went into the Super Over, the first such occurrence in the IPL 2025. One of the key players for the Capitals was Karun Nair, who culd not perform with the bat, having scored a three-ball duck. However, despite this poor performance, he created a unique record in the IPL.
Karun Nair has now become the first player in history to be part of five tied matches in the IPL. The first tied match he played was in IPL 2013 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). While representing RR, he played two tied matches- against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2014, and against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2015. For PBKS, he played a tied match against DC in IPL 2020. The DC vs RR game, was Karun Nair's fifth IPL tied match.

DC Seal Thrilling Super Over Win

After being put in to bat first, Delhi Capitals put on 188 on the board for the loss of 5 wickets. While Abhishek Porel gave them a good start with a 49-run knock, Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs provided some late momentum, with both playing quick-fire knocks of 34. Jofra Archer was the pick of the RR bowlers as he picked up 2 wickets.
Riding on half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana, Rajasthan Royals also scored 188 as the match went into the Super Over. The Royals could only manage 11 runs, as Tristan Stubbs and KL Rahul scored 12 runs in just 4 balls of their Super Over to seal a win for DC.
