'IPL Is Better Than PSL': Sam Billings Stuns Pakistani Media In Karachi (Source: PSL)
Lahore Qalandars' Sam Billings gave a stunning reply to a Pakistani journalist who asked him to compare the Indian Premier League (IPL) with the Pakistan Super League (PSL). PSL is one of the most hyped T20 leagues around the globe, but it stands nowhere when it comes to the glamour and charm of IPL. Why just PSL? No T20 tournament in the world is in the league of the IPL.
Billings took a dig at the reporter, saying that he wants him to say something silly, however, he stood by his stance and put IPL ahead of any other T20 league in the world.
"You want me to say something silly? It's hard to look past the IPL as the premier competition in the world, it's very obvious , every other competition is just behind, you know in England we are trying to do the same like PSL as the second best competition in world, Big Bash too trying to do the same ," Billings told the reporter.
This is not the first time a Pakistani reporter has tried to get a spicy byte, dragging India into the discussion. Recently, a Pakistani reporter asked Karachi Kings captain David Warner about the hate he got from the Indian fans for playing PSL after going unsold in the IPL. Warner, however, debunked the myth, saying that this was the first time he had heard such a claim.
“This is the first I've heard of it. From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There's an opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar didn't allow me to come to PSL due to the timing. Now, I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully we are able to win the trophy,” Warner said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Meanwhile, Sam Billings has had mixed outings in the PSL so far. Billings played in all three games for Qalandars and scored 69 runs, including a fifty and a duck.
