The 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad saw a major controversy on Wednesday (April 9) with tempers flaring after Riyan Parag's dismissal.
The Royals' vice-captain was looking in solid touch and set for a big score before Kulwant Khejorliya got his wicket on debut for the Titans. Parag appeared to edge a delivery to wicket-keeper Jos Buttler and was given out by the on-field umpire. However, the 23-year-old immediately asked for a review. Parag ended up costing RR a review after a spike was seen on the replays.
However, the Indian all-rounder was not pleased with the decision and lost his cool at the umpire. Parag seemingly claimed that the ultra edge was detecting noise from the ball hitting the ground instead of an edge.
