Priyansh Arya set the stage on fire as he led Punjab Kings (PBKS) to an 18-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Arya blasted 103 in 42 balls, smashing the fastest hundred by an uncapped player in IPL, with nine sixes and seven fours in a brutal inning. Wickets kept on tumbling at one end, and PBKS were reduced to 88-5 at one stage, but the young Arya showed nerves of steel and turned the game on his head.

Former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu lavished praise on Arya and called him a miracle, drawing comparisons with the great Sachin Tendulkar. Sidhu said Arya scored a hundred against a world-class bowling attack at a strike rate of 250, adding that he showed his wide range of shots against the CSK bowlers. Sidhu added that Arya won the lost match for PBKS.

"Priyansh Arya will play for India for a long time. After Sachin Tendulkar, he is the second player who is a miracle (Sachin ke baad doosra khilaadi ha jo chamatkar ha) because today he scored a century in a tough situation. Look at the bowlers he faced; he scored a century at a 250-strike rate," Sidhu said in a video he posted on Instagram.

"When Shreyas, Nehal, and Prabhsimran were dismissed, he scored runs with his strong wrists. The way he scores sixes on point and covers, he covered all ranges. Pathirana, Jadjea, Ashwin, and Noor were the bowlers in front of him. He won a lost match for Punjab," he added.

Meanwhile, the win helped PBKS rise to fourth in the points table. CSK, on the other hand, suffered to their fourth defeat and slipped to ninth.
