No Virat Kohli Or Rohit Sharma! MS Dhoni Picks Four Indians In His All-Time Dream Team

MS Dhoni is considered one of the greatest players of all time, especially in Indian cricket. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter has played with some of the greatest players of all-time. In the latter half of his career for Team India, Dhoni has played with the two Indian modern-day greats Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who flourished under his captaincy. However, while naming his dream team, Dhoni has not picked any of these two players.
In a podcast with Raj Shamani, MS Dhoni said that Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sourav Ganguly as the players he would like to have in his top order. He said that when one saw them playing, he/she felt that there's nobody better than them.
"I would stick to my Indian players, Viru pa (Virender Sehwag) opening the innings. So Viru pa, Sachin, Dada (Sourav Ganguly). Because, you know, the thing is, imagine everyone at their prime. And the beauty is when you see them playing, you will feel there’s nobody better. But cricket a game of ups and downs. So it becomes very difficult to pick, but growing up we have all seen these players perform," he said.
MS Dhoni Also Picked Yuvraj Singh
MS Dhoni also included Yuvraj Singh in his batting order, mentioning his six sixes in an over. Dhoni then refused to further name a dream team, because he said that he cannot pick anyone but would want to enjoy everyone.
“You know when Yuvi (Yuvraj) was hitting six sixes, you’d say you don’t want to watch anyone else. So, the thing is, why I should pick anyone? Why can’t I just enjoy everyone? You know, they all contributed for India. You know, they all made sure that we win many tournaments wherever we are playing," he said.
“Not everything was covered before (like today). There are lot of performances that I may not be aware of, generations I may not be aware of but some of the talents we have seen, especially at their peak, you will be like ‘mind blowing’," Dhoni added.
