Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Kings (LSG) will host Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 13th match of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday (April 1). With 1 win from 2 matches, LSG sit at the third spot in the points table. PBKS have won their only match they have played so far and are at the fifth position.
LSG lost their opening game of the season against Delhi Capitals. They bounced back strongly and registered a dominant win over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Courtesy of brilliant batting performances by Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh, they chased down the target of 191 in just 16.1 overs.
PBKS kicked off their campaign with an 11-run win over Gujarat Titans. Captain Shreyas stepped up for his team and slammed an unbeaten 97 off 42 balls. Shashank Singh also played a crucial role with the bat and hit an unbeaten 44 off 16 balls.
Rishabh and Shreyas are former teammates and it will be a battle of supremacy between the two captains. Rishabh played under Shreyas' captaincy from IPL 2018 to 2020.
Rishabh was appointed Delhi Capitals' (DC) captain after Shreyas was ruled out of the first half of IPL 2021. The franchise didn't reappoint Shreyas even after he made his return for the second half.
LSG vs PBKS toss time
The toss between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings will take place at 7:00 PM IST. The first ball with be bowled at 7:30 PM IST. The captain winning the toss might opt to bowl first due to the dew factor.
Even though the umpires can now change the ball, the team batting second does have an advantage. The team batting first will have to aim for a total of more than 225 in these conditions. This will be LSG's first home game of the season.
