Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered their second win on the trot and defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 8 wickets in an away game of IPL 2025 on Tuesday (April 1). The visiting team registered a one-sided win and chased down the target of 172 in just 16.2 overs. PBKS did lose the early wicket of Priyansh Arya but there was no looking back for them after that.
Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer added 84 runs for the second wicket in 44 balls to take their team to the cusp of a win. Prabhsimran departed for a match-winning 69 off 34 balls.
Following his dismissal, Nehal Wadhera joined Iyer and the duo finished the game quickly. They added 67 runs for the third wicket in 37 balls to propel their team to a win. Iyer remained unbeaten on 52 off 30 balls while Nehal smashed 43 off just 25 balls. Arshdeep Singh did the job with the ball and scalped 3 wickets.
IPL 2025 points table
Punjab Kings jumped from 5th spot to the second position after registering their second consecutive win of the season. LSG, who were at the third spot, moved to the sixth position in the table.
With 2 wins from as many matches, Royal Challengers Bengaluru sit at the top spot in the table. Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals have also won 2 matches and they sit at the third position. Kolkata Knight Riders are reeling at the last position in the table.

Nicholas Pooran continues to top the run-scoring charts with 189 runs in 2 matches. The left-handed batsman has 15 sixes and 17 boundaries in IPL 2025. Pooran is followed by Iyer, who has scored 149 runs in 2 matches.
Chennai Super Kings' Noor Ahmed tops the wicket-taking chats with 9 scalps. He is followed by Mitchell Starc, who has 8 wickets in the tournament.
