Virat Kohli is one of the greatest all-format batsmen. Virat's success with the bat has seen him achieve cult status and he has broken plenty of records in his career. Virat has excelled in every format and he is a modern-day great. Virat also excelled on the captaincy front and he was India's most successful Test captain when he stepped down.
Virat doesn't bowl much in international cricket. Despite that, he has sent down more than 160 overs in 545 matches. The right-arm pacer has 9 wickets. Virat would have probably bowled much more if he bowled spin.
Virat's first wicket came in a T20I against England. The right-arm medium pacer dismissed Kevin Pietersen in the one-off T20I in Manchester on August 31, 2011. The star England player was dismissed off a wide.
Virat created a unique record and dismissed Pietersen off his very first ball in T20I cricket. But it was a wide. He bowled 3 overs and scalped 1 wicket. Rohit Sharma leaked 16 runs in the only over he bowled.
Pietersen and Virat were teammates at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2009 and 2010. Virat has been part of RCB since IPL's inception. They share a good rapport and were spotted having a friendly chat during the India-England series.
