Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha put up a record-breaking showing as Pakistan secured their place in the 2025 ODI tri-series final against New Zealand on Friday (February 14) at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi after securing a memorable win against South Africa in a virtual semi-final at the same venue on Wednesday (February 12) with a six-wicket victory.
The Men in Green chased down a massive total of 355 which is their record run-chase in history. This is the first instance of the 1992 World Champions chasing a total of more than 350. Previously, a chase of 349 against Australia in 2022 at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore was their highest successful innings score in an ODI game.
Pakistan also broke Australia's 23-year-old world to complete the highest successful run-chase against South Africa in the format. The Men in Yellow had chased down a total of 327 against the Proteas at the Gqeberha.

Rizwan and Agha put up a massive partnership of 260 runs for the fourth wicket to seal a memorable win for the home team. The duo have registered the highest partnership for the fourth wicket or below in ODI cricket history while chasing. In fact, the Pakistan captain and vice-captain are the first pair to register a partnership of more than 250 runs in the second innings of an ODI game for the fourth wicket or below.Rizwan and Agha's partnership is only the fourth instance of a 200+ partnership in a run-chase for the fourth wicket.

This is the third-highest partnership for the fourth wicket or below in the 50-over format in international cricket behind Mohammad Azharuddin-Ajay Jadeja (4th wicket, 275 runs, India vs Zimbabwe). Rizwan and Agha's stand is also the fourth-highest in ODI cricket history in a run chase behind Sanath Jayasuriya-Upul Tharanga (1st Wicket, 286 runs vs. England at Leeds 2006), Hashim Amla-Quinton de Kock (1st wicket, 282 runs vs. Bangladesh at Kimberly, 2017), and Devon Conway-Rachin Ravindra (2nd wicket, 273 runs vs. England at Ahmedabad, 2023).
Rizwan and Agha's partnership is the highest by a Pakistan pair for the fourth wicket or below and just the third instance of a 200+ stand after Babar Azam-Iftikhar Ahmed (5th wicket vs Nepal, Multan 2023) and Mohammad Yusuf-Shoaib Malik (4th wicket, 206 runs vs India at Centurion, 2009).
The Pakistan skipper's and his deputy's 206-run stand is also the third-highest partnership by a Pakistan pair in ODI cricket history for any wicket.
