Virat Kohli's brother Vikas appeared to fire a brutal dig at Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir following India's lacklustre bowling display in the fourth Test of the Oongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester, which has put the visiting team on the brink of a defeat.
2-1 down in the series, India posted a total of 358 on the board with the bat, but the hosts responded in style by posting a massive total of 669 and taking a lead of 111 runs. This marked the first instance of India conceding over 500 since January 2025 in a SENA country. The last time the Asian giants conceded over 600+ in a Test match was in February 2024.
Intrestingly, this means that India never conceded over 600 in a Test match under Virat's captaincy and only once conceded over 500 away from home against a SENA nation once in his tenure, which was his first match in charge post MS Dhoni's retirement.
Vikas was critical of India's bowling display and their ability to take 20 wickets. Over recent days, Gambhir and Gill have faced criticism from all corners for their selection, with many experts pointing out that the bowling unit was compromised.
"NOT LONG AGO…. We had a test team… where our bowlers use to take 20 wickets….." wrote Vikas on Instagram's Thread App.

Talking about the match, India were reduced to 0-2 in the first over in the second innings but made a strong fightback with Shubman Gill and KL Rahul putting up an unbeaten 174-run partnership. The visitors ended Day 4 at 174/2 with Rahul batting on 87 while Gill is batting 78.
Rahul is heading for the third century of the series while Gill is set for a fourth ton as India hope for a miracle to save the game.
