Ben Stokes has single-handedly put England in a strong position to win the series against India. He bowled a marathon spell at Lord's and helped England defend a modest total of 193. Throughout the series, Stokes was England's man with the golden arm, and he did a remarkable job of providing England with crucial wickets every time they had their backs against the wall. Stokes carried his form to Manchester, where he turned out to be England's best bowler, again, and picked a brilliant five-wicket haul to bowl out India for 358 on a flat track.
On Day 4, Stokes achieved a historic feat and scored his 14th Test hundred to take England's lead over the 250-run mark.
The performance by Stokes helped him etch his name in the record books. Stokes became the fifth captain to take a five-wicket haul and score a hundred in the same Test. The last captain to achieve the double was Imran Khan, who scored a hundred and took a fifer against India in Faisalabad in 1983.

Stokes is the fourth England cricketer to achieve the feat as a player after Ian Botham, Tony Greig, and Gus Atkinson.
Meanwhile, Stokes also became the third player to complete a double of 7000 runs and 200 wickets in Tests.
