As Pakistan revealed their teams for the forthcoming West Indies tour on Friday, July 25, Shaheen Shah Afridi made his T20I comeback. Shaheen was left out of the squad for the Bangladesh series and last participated in a T20 International match during the New Zealand tour earlier this year. Hasan Ali and Haris Rauf returned to the T20I team along with Shaheen.
But as far as the game's shortest format was concerned, Babar Azam remained on the sidelines. Along with Shaheen, Babar is a member of the ODI team, which is captained by Muhammad Rizwan. The lone player without a cap who was named to the 16-man roster for the 50-over format is Hasan Nawaz. In the T20Is, Salman Ali Agha will captain the team, while in the ODIs, he will serve as Rizwan's deputy.
After losing to Bangladesh 2-1 in the T20 International series, Pakistan is hoping for a change in fortunes. Following the three T20 Internationals against the West Indies in Lauderhill, USA, both sides will travel to the Caribbean for the three One-Day Internationals.
