While fans in England were denied the chance to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in action this year during the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy following their decision to retire from Test cricket just a month before the series started, the legendary could be seen in action next year on English soil after a huge announcement by the English Cricket Board (ECB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday (July 24).
The ECB announced their home schedule for 2026, which included another visit by Team India. While this time around, the Asian Giants have visited England for a five-match Test series, they will return for a white-ball leg next, which includes five T20Is and three ODIs.
The ODI series could see Rohit and Virat in action in what could be their final outings on English soil. The legendary batters have also quit T20Is and are only active international players in the ODI format, with both evidently looking to play the 2027 World Cup.
Talking about India's tour of England in 2026, the assignment will start with 5 T20Is before the three ODIs.

July 4: 2nd T20I – Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, 7 PM IST
July 7: 3rd T20I – Trent Bridge, Nottingham, 11 PM IST
July 9: 4th T20I – Seat Unique Stadium, Bristol, 11 PM IST
July 11: 5th T20I – Utilita Bowl, Southampton, 11 PM IST
July 14: 1st ODI – Edgbaston, Birmingham, 5:30 PM IST
July 16: 2nd ODI – Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, 5:30 PM IST
July 19: 3rd ODI – Lord’s, London, 3:30 PM IST
As far as ODI cricket is concerned, India has nine ODIs scheduled as things before the tour of England next, with an away series against Australia in October, before hosting South Africa and New Zealand in December and January respectively.
As far as England is concerned, they will also host New Zealand and Pakistan next year for three Tests each. Later, Sri Lanka will tour the country for for three T20Is and ODIs each.
