Premium Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will play in the forthcoming Manchester Test match against England, according to confirmation from the Indian star Mohammed Siraj. The team management had declared that the superstar bowler would only play three Test matches; therefore, there was a lot of debate about Bumrah's involvement in the fourth game of the series. Bumrah missed the victory at Edgbaston and played in the first and third Test matches at Lord's and Headingley. Siraj has confirmed that Bumrah will play in the pivotal game in Manchester, as many supporters and experts, including Anil Kumble, had suggested.
"Jassi bhai toh khelengey jitna pata hai! (As much as I know, Jasprit Bumrah bhai will play)" Siraj said.
Siraj was reticent when discussing the team lineup for the game, stating that whichever lineup is chosen will be best for the team.
"I don't know much about the combination. Whatever will be chosen will be the best for the team," Siraj added.
In the two games he has played thus far, Bumrah has taken 12 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls.
Due to a knee injury, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will not be participating in the series. Rishabh Pant has a left-hand finger injury, Akash Deep has a groin ache, while Arshdeep Singh is sidelined for the fourth Test due to a bowling hand injury. Anshul Kamboj, an uncapped seam bowler from Haryana, has joined the Indian team and is now in Manchester.
Bumrah missed the Birmingham Test, which India won by 336 runs to tie the series at the time, but he has already participated in two of the three Test matches, at Leeds and Lord's. This implies that Bumrah and Siraj, India's two most seasoned fast bowlers, will be available for selection on Wednesday; Akash Deep's involvement is still uncertain. Due to Reddy's injury, India will need to alter their starting lineup for the third Test by at least one player. On July 23, the fourth Test will begin.
