India are sweating over Rishabh Pant's fitness before the fourth Test of the five-match series against England. The visiting team is 1-2 behind and the Manchester Test is a must-win for them. Rishabh suffered a finger injury during the third Test match while collecting a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah. He only kept wickets for 35 overs in the first innings. While he did come out to bat in both innings, Rishabh didn't do wicketkeeping in England's second innings. Dhruv Jurel did the job in his place.
Rishabh has shown signs of recovery from the finger injury as he was spotted doing wicketkeeping two days before the fourth Test match. The wicketkeeper-batsman was part of the catching drills. He safely collected one of the balls that came towards him.
The update is a big boost for India as Rishabh has been India's star performer in the series. He kicked off the series with twin centuries in Leeds. He followed up with scores of 25 and 65 in Birmingham. Rishabh scored 83 runs in the third Test at Lord's despite a finger injury.
Dhruv will stay out of playing XI if Rishabh is completely fit. He will play as a special wicketkeeper if Rishabh isn't fully fit. Dhruv has only played one Test since Rishabh's return to the Test team. He played the Perth game against Australia as a specialist batsman.
India suffer injury blows before 4th Test
