After dominating West Indies in the two-match Test series, Australia will lock horns with them in a five-match T20I series. The series opener will be played at Sabina Park in Jamaica. Australia don't enter this series as favourites as they are without the services of their first-choice players. West Indies, on the other hand, have their full-strength squad at the helm. Shai Hope will lead the home team. WI have the ranks of Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, Rovman Powell, Romario Shephered, Andre Russell and many other regulars in the team.
Russell will retire from T20I cricket after the 2nd T20I, which will be played at his home ground. He has played 1 Tests, 56 ODIs and 84 T20Is. Sabina Park is scheduled to host the first 2 T20Is of the series.
Mitchell Marsh will lead the visiting team. Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa are the only two other experienced players in the national team. All eyes will be on Maxwell, who will have a crucial role to play in the series.
The star all-rounder has now retired from ODIs while he isn't part of the Test team. All in all, he only plays T20I cricket now. Zampa will have a crucial role to play with the ball.
